Hot Tubs & Spa Pools

A heat swimming pool is termed as a spa pool intended for relaxation and therapy. This is usually found in sauna bath areas of a health club or fitness centre. They are found in hotels, motels and massage parlours as well. Spa pools need to have a reliable temperature control device as the heated water can reach as high as 38c to 42c especially when the water is coming from a geothermal source such as hot springs. Chlorine is not very effective when used in spa pools due to the high water temperature. What is used is bromine or other mineral sanitizers while ozone is also used due to its strong bactericide effects. Spa pools use jet nozzles to inject water bubbles at strong pressure to keep the water churning and make massages with the circulating water at high pressure near the feet or at the seat area.

Hot tubs were made of hardwood such as California redwood shaped into a wine barrel with metal hoops around to keep it together. Nowadays, hard plastic is used due to its versatility when it comes to manufacturing design. Steel and acrylics are also used because using wood can cause the infections arising from the constantly damp woodwork. Plastic, steel and acrylics allow features to be included in the manufacturing process such as wave generators, bubble jets, filters and artificial heaters. These materials allow flexibility in the design such as a spectacular love heart shape while tub sizes can be modified from as small as a table to as large as a room. Be prepared also to see a big jump in your monthly electricity bill.
